Friday
28 May

Arrivals & a gentle start

  • Travel in across the day — most flights from the UK and connections from the US land in the afternoon or evening.
  • Settle into your accommodation in or around Udine.
  • An informal evening: those who've arrived can meet for a drink and a bite in town. We'll share a spot nearer the time.
Saturday
29 May

A private vineyard tour

  • A day in Friuli's wine country — we're arranging this ourselves, with help from Monica's family and their local connections.
  • Visits to a few characterful vineyards in the Collio hills, tastings included, with transport laid on so everyone can enjoy themselves.
  • A relaxed lunch along the way. Final details (and timings) will firm up once we know numbers.
Sunday
30 May

The celebration — the main event

  • An evening party at Trattoria Al Torrente, from around 5pm until late.
  • Fresh grilled fish, the local way, with wine to match.
  • A live band to see the night through.
  • A coach to and from Udine, so no one needs to think about driving.
Monday
31 May

Home — or stay a while

  • A UK bank holiday Monday makes for an easy travel day home, back to work or school on the Tuesday.
  • Or extend your trip: Friuli rewards a few extra days, and you're within reach of Venice, the Dolomites, Trieste and Slovenia.
